Grassington Grassington is the largest village in Wharfedale and offers visitors a wealth of Dales history. It is a centre from which to enjoy many spectacular walks, either along the Dales Way over the hills or along the River Wharfe. There are a variety of pubs
and cafes in the village together with a wide selection of shops, including an awarding winning butcher, clothes and shoe shops, museum, craft and outdoor shops.
If you visit during June there is the renowned Grassington Festival. In recent years this has attracted such people as Dara O'Brien, Toyah Wilcox, Paul Merton, Aled Jones and Catherine Jenkins. During December there are the Dickensian Markets where the
village goes back to the 19th century.

Burnsall Burnsall is one of the prettiest villages in Wharfedale with its village green and arched bridge spanning the River Wharfe. Burnsall is famous as being the birthplace of the original 'Dick Whittington'.
The village has two pubs and a tea room, all serving good food. There is also a village shop which is an Aladdin's Cave, you can order your newspapers, milk, fresh bread etc. (If you ring your order through before you arrive we will ensure it is awaiting
